Service Status: Closed until further notice due to issues with Paypal.

~How To Order~
1. Send me an email to glassbubblegum@gmail.com with the subject heading 'Shopping Service Order'. This is important, as emails with any other subject heading may be missed in my inbox.

2. In the body of the email, please use the following format to provide your order:

Name and livejournal username:
Item name:
Item URL (if possible):
Item colour (provide second choices if you have any that would be acceptable to you):
Item quantity:
Paypal address to be invoiced:

3. I will then invoice you for your total. When payment has been received, I will go to the shop for your order.

4. If anything is out-of-stock, I will get back in touch with you to ask you if you would like me to buy something else with the money, or to refund it. Either option is perfectly acceptable.

5. If all your order was available, I will let you know that it has been successfully purchased. Later you will receive details of postage, including your tracking number.

~Shipping~
-Shipping costs are all estimates. If the actual cost proves to be less than quoted, I will refund you the balance; if it proves to be more than quoted, I may ask you to pay the difference.
-All parcels will be sent with a tracking number via EMS. This is generally an incredibly safe means of shipping, but in rare cases of error on the behalf of the postal service, I regret that I cannot be held responsible.

~Payment~
-I accept payment by PAYPAL ONLY. All invoices will be given in British pounds.
-Minimum orders of £25.

Costs are calculated as follows:
Item price (calculated by the exchange rate on the date I send the invoice)
+16% commission fee (this includes paypal fees; 12% is my actual fee, but paypal takes 4%)
+shipping fee

For example, if you wanted to buy one skirt at 10,000 yen (£47.12 by today's exchange rate), your bill would be calculated like so:
-Item price = £47.12
-16% fee = £7.54
-Shipping fee (example rate, will differ according to the weight/size of order) = £8
-Final total = £62.66

Things I CAN'T shop for:
-I do not do reservations for any brand at this point. I have intentions to do so in the future, but for now I will buy current stock only.
-Webshop only goods. At the moment I am buying only in-store items, though this is likely to change in the future.
-I regret that I cannot buy parasols at the moment, as I have not found a safe way of packaging them and do not want my customers to receive damaged items.
-Lucky packs; unfortunately I work weekends, when most of the in-store novelty sales occur.

~Closet Child Service~
A service whereby you can tell me what that one dream item of yours is (Twinkle Mermaid? Puppet Circus? Stained glass print? You name it!), and I will watch the Tokyo Closet Child stores for it. Yes, Closet Child has a website, but no, not nearly all the goods they have get listed on the website for overseas sale, so this service should help you catch some of those great deals. See here for the details!

~Feedback~
I have 100% positive feedback on the [info]loligoth_dbs, and on eBay under the same name. If you are a new customer to my service, I may ask you for some feedback; I reserve the right to refuse customers with zero or negative feedback.

If you have any questions, concerns, or problems with your order, please do not hesitate to contact me at glassbubblegum@gmail.com. However, try to remember that I work full-time alongside this service and will not always be able to get back to you immediately! Your patience will be greatly appreciated. :)

Closure

hello kitty mermaid
As some of you may have heard, I will be closing my service as of today. There are a number of reasons for this, the foremost being a lack of time due to a packed work schedule. Many of you have been a joy to work with, though there have also been a number of very difficult customers too that contributed to my decision to close.

However, I will keep this journal open for direct sales and occasional updates about what's in the Tokyo stores, so feel free to keep it on your list. :)

Thanks very much!

FAQ amendments

  • 11th Jul, 2008 at 1:39 PM
hello kitty mermaid
Hello everyone! Just a quick note to clarify a couple of points that have come up over the last few weeks. I'll add them to the FAQ later too:

Order Cancellations
Cancellations are ONLY acceptable in the case of the Closet Child service where the requested item is not currently in-stock. If you are requesting an item from the Closet Child blog or website then it will be treated like a regular shopping service order- in this case, cancellations are not okay, so please ensure that you can definitely follow through with your order if you make one!

Because this has been a recurring problem, I am introducing a strike policy for order cancellations:

1. If you cancel an order before you have paid, you will receive one warning. If you do this more than twice, then I will not do business with you in future.
2. If you cancel an order after you have paid then I will not do business with you in future, and may leave negative feedback on the [info]loligoth_dbs.

One cancellation does not take up too much of my time but by the time I have received five in one day, this has wasted a significant amount of time that could have been given to paying customers instead. Please understand that I am introducing this system only to prioritise serious buyers, not to make anyone feel uncomfortable!

Stock Requests
I have also been getting a lot of stock-check requests: I am happy to continue doing these for you, but henceforth I will ask that you pay my train fare to and from the store, as travelling back and forth for non-customers is costing me quite a bit of money.

So, just send me an email entitled "Stock Request", the names/images of the goods you're looking for, and your paypal address and I'll invoice you for my train fare (this will rarely be more than £3.50). I will then check the store for you and let you know what is and isn't in stock!

Bulk Purchases
I have had one or two bulk purchase requests, ie people asking me to buy a lot of stock for re-sale. I have decided not to take these kinds of requests because the spirit of my service is to provide to individual foreign customers, not to be a corporate service.

Hope this clears things up, and thanks for reading!

Closet Child Service Status: Closed until further notice due to issues with Paypal.

So I'm finally ready to open the long-awaited Closet Child shopping service! Here's how it works:

1. Check the "Closet Child Service Status" line at the top of this page. If it does not say "open for new orders" then please do not send a request, as it will not be responded to; instead, check back later. I will only take a very limited number of requests for this service at any one time because I don't want to be looking for so many things that I forget any!

2. If it says "open for new orders", then send me an email to glassbubblegum@gmail.com with the subject heading "Closet Child Service Order". This email should contain the following information:

-Your name, and Livejournal username
-A link to any feedback (preferably on ebay or [info]loligoth_dbs, not a personal journal) tied to your username.
-A brief description of the item you are looking for, eg "Baby The Stars Shine Bright skirt, Snow White print, pink". One item only per customer!
-An image of the item you are looking for (stock or otherwise).
-The maximum price you are willing to pay for this item (if Closet Child is charging more than this, then I will not buy it).
-The paypal address you would like me to send an invoice to.

3. I will invoice you for 15% of your maximum price; this is to ensure that if I buy the goods out of my own pocket, I will be reimbursed for the remaining 85%. NOTE: if the buyer backs out after I have paid for the goods, then this deposit will not be refunded. However, if you wish to cancel your request before the goods have been purchased then you may do so at any time- just send me an email and I will refund your deposit immediately.

4. If I see your requested item, I will buy it on the spot with my own money so that it doesn't sell in the time that it takes for me to email you, you to respond, me to go back to the shop, etc.

5. I will then invoice you for the remaining 85% of the cost, plus a 16% fee (4% paypal fees, 12% commission) and shipping; payment must be received within one week of this invoice unless other arrangements have been made, or you will be considered a non-paying buyer and your deposit will be forfeited.

6. After payment has been received, your goods will be posted out to you promptly via EMS complete with the requisite free gift. :)

As usual, if you have any questions then please feel free to contact me via email. Happy shopping!

Hi everyone: just a quick note to ask you a favour! If you have questions or such about my service, please don't post them as comments on this journal. This is because unmarked comments have a habit of getting lost in my inbox and I don't want to overlook anyone! I'll be disabling comments on the FAQ post shortly for this reason.

Instead, would you please send your inquiries in an email to glassbubblegumATgmailDOTcom with the subject heading 'Shopping Service Question' to ensure that I receive it and can respond quickly? Thanks very much!

Moi-Meme-Moitie Ritual Print Skirt

  • 26th Jun, 2008 at 4:41 PM
hello kitty mermaid
The black x grey Moitie ritual print skirt is in store now! If you liked the print but not so much the shape of the sundress version, then you'll love the skirt! It's a very simple design in a chiffon-esque fabric, with a beautiful lace trim and centrally aligned print; I am 5ft tall, and it falls just over the knee on me. The price is 22,050 yen.

Also, I'd like to thank everyone who is following this journal and placing orders with me! I really appreciate your custom, and I sincerely hope that I can meet - and exceed - your expectations from a shopping service. :)
